Optical-fiber systems have many advantages over metallic-based communication systems. These advantages include interference, attenuation, and bandwidth characteristics. Furthermore, the relatively smaller cross section of fiber-optic cables allows room for substantial growth of the capacity in existing conduits. Fiber-optic characteristics can be classified as linear and nonlinear. Nonlinear characteristics are influenced by parameters, such as bit rates, channel spacing, and power levels.
Interference
Light signals traveling via a fiber-optic cable are immune from electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio-frequency interference (RFI). Lightning and high-voltage interference is also eliminated. A fiber network is best for conditions in which EMI or RFI interference is heavy or safe operation free from sparks and static is a must. This desirable property of fiber-optic cable makes it the medium of choice in industrial and biomedical networks. It is also possible to place fiber cable into natural-gas pipelines and use the pipelines as the conduit.
Principle of optical fiber cable operation
An optical fiber is a cylindrical dielectric waveguide (nonconducting waveguide) that transmits light along its axis, by the process of total internal reflection. The fiber consists of a core surrounded by a cladding layer, both of which are made of dielectric materials. To confine the optical signal in the core, the refractive index of the core must be greater than that of the cladding. The boundary between the core and cladding may either be abrupt, in step-index fiber, or gradual, in graded-index fiber.

The ZKTeco TS2200 tripod turnstile series is a compact and cost-effective entrance control system designed for high-traffic volume.
TS2200 is a dual-lane tripod turnstile series designed for smooth and silent operation and draws very little power. It’s made of stainless steel which makes TS2200 highly durable. TS2200 is also surprisingly compact and designed to operate in small workspaces.
TS2200 tripod arms are normally held in a locked position, thus denying access to the secured side. Upon TS2200’s reader (RFID and/or fingerprint) positively recognizing a user’s valid access card or fingerprint, its tripod arms unlock, thus allowing users passage to the secured side.
Option for built-in REX button allows users to conveniently exit the secured side without needing to use their access card or fingerprint.
During emergencies and power outages the tripod arms completely collapse, thereby ensuring users FAST unencumbered exit to safety.
TS2200 provides both security and convenience, all in a very durable compact design.
